We recently undertook the exciting project of rebuilding the exterior turrets of a building in Whitby, Ontario. The turrets had started to show signs of deterioration, with crumbling bricks and unstable structures that needed urgent attention. Our team carefully removed the damaged brick, ensuring the surrounding area remained intact. To maintain the historic charm of the school, we matched the new mortar with heritage lime mortar, which not only blended seamlessly with the existing structure but also allowed for the natural movement of the bricks. This approach is essential in preserving the building’s integrity over time. Once the repairs were complete, the turrets stood tall and strong, enhancing the school's unique architectural features. The project was a rewarding experience, and we’re proud to have contributed to preserving an important piece of local history while providing a safe environment for students.
